ALLERFORD
COMMUNITY HALL

Allerford Village Hall,
formerly known as Selworthy Parish Hall, is situated at the Bossington
end of Allerford
village. It is on the left, opposite Stoates
Farm, and is on the edge of Allerford Cricket Club field.
There is a Children's playground on the far side of the Hall,
which was built in 1998 with funds from Parishioners, The Rural
Development Council and The National Lottery Charities Board.
As a result of the
Parish Appraisal it became apparent that a larger more accommodating
Community Hall was required. Fund-raising is well under way for
a new Hall. AWARDS FOR ALL have donated £2000 for
a recent purchase of new tables. The Barnstaple group of
architects, Gale & Snowden, prepared plans that went before
public meetings and are now awaiting planning permission with
The Exmoor National Park and West Somerset District Council.
The National Trust Architectoral Group has received copies, for
a "recent" meeting - but, so far, no feed back has been
received. (21.11.2001)
In August 2007
it was decided to rename the hall:
