IMPORTANT -
Temporary Event Notifications (TEN)
If you are planning an event at which alcohol will be
supplied you will need to complete a TEN.
Under the Licensing Act 2003, imposed
by the Government, only twelve T.E.N.s
are allowed
for any given premises
each year. At present these cost £21
each and take about 1 month to
obtain. Two copies of the notice must be sent
to the West Somerset District Council and
one copy to the Police. (see addresses below). A copy
of the acknowledged TEN (signed by
the Licensing Authority)
must be
supplied when the Hall is Booked for your event.
The
procedure to book the Hall where the sale of alcohol
is to take place is as follows:-
(i)
Provisionally book the Hall with the Booking Clerk
(ii)
Complete and send off a TEN.
(iii)
Once your TEN is returned acknowledged fill in a Booking Form and submit it,
with
a copy of the TEN and your Deposit, to the Booking Clerk to confirm
your
Booking.
(iv)
If the Licensing Authority issue a counter notice then please notify the Booking
Clerk
immediately so
that your booking can be cancelled. Any licensable
activities
taking place would be unauthorised and you would be liable to
prosecution.
